Dr Okunwa worried over insecurity in Orlu.
1 min readThe Umuaka Times Cultural Ambassador of the Year 2019 and the Ugobuzuo 1 of Umuaka, Dr Albert Okunwa has expressed deep concerns and worries over the insecurity that has engulfed the entire country especially in the South Eastern Nigeria. Speaking with the Umuaka Times correspondent in America, Dr Okunwa who also holds the title of Akaekpuchionwa of Ebenator Ekwe and Agba Ego Nkiti of Ekwe Ancient Kingdom lamented that violence can never be the solution to the leadership crisis the country is facing today and therefore called upon the stakeholders in the South East to convene a security summit and find a solution.
Concerning wars and bloodbaths, Dr Okunwa frowned at such solutions because as someone who witnessed the war of 1967 to 70, nobody likes to see the repeat of such situation. In his own words, “Both Chief Emeka Ojukwu and Gen Gowon have expressed their regrets over the war at different fora.”
Dr Okunwa who finally appealed to Nigerian government and IPOB to have a rethink about the heavy cost of wars and social disorganizations reminded the people that all parties are losers in wars.
