Elder Linus Nwokeocha loses mother; burial date fixed on Dec. 18.

The family of late Mr. Bernard Amula-Erewe Nwokeocha of Umuokwaranwaneri Isiozi Akah Njaba LGA Imo State has announced the burial of the 90-year-old matriarch of the family and wife of the late Mr. Bernard Amula-EreweNwokeocha, the late MrsEzinne Christiana Akuwuchi Nwokeocha (née Anopueme). In a press statement signed by Chief Linus Nwokeocha (Elder) on behalf of the family which was made available to Umuaka Times, the burial program will commence on Friday, December 18, 2026 in the community.
According to the statement, a Christian wake-keep and service of songs will be held in the family compound of her late husband in IsioziAkah on Thursday 17 December 2026. The event kicks off by 8 pm. The following day being Friday December 18, 2026, the motorcade conveying the remains of the deceased mother of all will depart the mortuary by 7:00 a.m. for the family compound, where the traditional lying-in-state ceremony will commence immediately upon arrival.
BY 9:00 a.m., the motorcade will proceed to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Isiozi-Akah where a requiem Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul. Members of the family, fellow members of the Catholic Women’s Organization (CWO) and other mourners are expected to attend the funeral Mass.
The late Ezinne Nwokeocha has been described by the family and those who knew her closely during her lifetime as a beloved wife, mother, daughter, mother in-law, grandmother, aunty, sister and devoted Christian mother whose life was marked by faith, family and service to others. The family has invited relatives, friends, members of the Catholic community and well-wishers to join them in paying their final respects to the deceased and celebrating the life she lived.Women’s Organization (CWO) and other mourners are expected to attend the funeral Mass.
