Disclosing this in a press statement issued last week, HRM Eze Justin Ezeala confirmed to Umuaka Times that the project has already begun.
In the press statement which was made available to the local affairs correspondents of Umuaka Times, the Obinwanne monarch wrote. “I have recently commenced the building of a Civic Center for Obinwanne Umuaka Community. On completion, it will seat over 300 people and will become the centre of social activities for my people. The Civic Centre will come with all modern facilities like toilets, audio-visual system etc.”
On the revenue that will be generated from the project, the Eze Nwanne 1 of Obinwanne disclosed to Umuaka Times that “It will be a donation from me to my people and all revenue from it will go to the government of Obinwanne Umuaka.”
Umuaka Times gathered that all the whole work process and division of labour for the project such as the project design, construction, supervision and supply of materials are done by Obinwanne Umuaka to boost her local economy. When Umuaka Times paid an official visit to the construction site last week, the newspaper observed works going on and those who were seen at the site displayed happiness over the project and over the role of the royal father of the community.
