Imo CP pays courtesy call to Eze Justin Ezeala.

The state Commissioner of Police in Imo State Police Aboki Danjuma, last week paid a courtesy call to the Chukwujiekwu Palace of HRM Eze Justin Uzoma Ezeala of Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community in Njaba LGA area of the state. With him during the visit were the DCP (CID) Sina Sirajo and the DPO Njaba Police Division, Mr. Martins Emere.

When the CP arrived at the compound of the Obinwanne monarch with his men last week, they were immediately ushered into the palace where kola nuts and drinks were served as a show of warm welcome as Igbo tradition demands.


After introductions were made, the commissioner disclosed the purpose of the visit. According to him, the reason for the visit was to identify with the Obinwanne community and Umuaka town in general on how to strengthen effective policing and collaboration between the police and the people of Obinwanne and Umuaka in generally. In the cause of his speech, the CP stressed the need for another patrol vehicle at the Njaba Police Division.

Martins Emere, the DPO of Njaba Police Division, while responding to the CP, painted a graphic picture of how the Njaba Police Division and the Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community and Umuaka community in general have been supportive and working with the division in making Njaba community a better place for all her inhabitants. He specifically named the Obinwanne monarch as a strong pillar that always supports the efforts of the police in her duties in the local council.

While responding to the speech by the commissioner and the DPO, HRM Eze Justin Ezeala thanked the team for the visit and went ahead to disclose to the visiting team how the community has been working in synergy with the Njaba Police Division over the years. He extolled the efforts of the DPO towards his genuine concerns in institutionalizing social sanity in Njaba.

Umuaka Times local affairs correspondents who covered the event confirmed that Eze Justin Ezeala is currently activating the borehole project at the police station to standardize it for effective supply of water at the station. He also has other plans on how to strongly strengthen the activities of the police in Njaba and vigilante groups in Njaba. He assured the visiting police team of his support as the royal father of Obinwanne community, the support of his community and Umuaka town in general in the effective discharge of police duties in Njaba.
