2 min readThe traditional ruler of Isiozi-Akah, one of the autonomous communities that were carved out of Umuaka town, His Royal Highness, Eze Barrister Victor Obioma Ijeoma, the Isiudo 1 of Isiozi Akah has called on the Isiozi people in particular and Umuaka indigenes in general to unite and embrace peace in order to attract positive developments to their communities. Eze Ijeoma who received his Staff of Office in May 2019 and was on Saturday June 20, 2020, inducted into the Imo State Council of Ndi Eze via the Council of Njaba Traditional Rulers, made this advocacy when the publisher of Umuaka Times, Mr Darlington Ojy Onwukwe called on him to congratulate him on his induction a couple of days ago.
The royal father used the opportunity and condemned in outright terms, the crises that have been rocking some communities in Umuaka and some communal assets like Afor Umuaka Modern Market and the motor park. Eze Ijeoma likened riches to a standing fan which blows to all corners at different times and appealed to Isiozi people and the entire Akahlites to have patience because the “cool breeze from the standing fan will get to everyone at the right time.”
On the issue of insecurity in the land of Umuaka and Njaba Local Council, the royal father stressed the need for the community to initiate both a lasting peace process and security network on how to make Umuaka better again.”The state government has given notice for community policing, although I was just inducted two days ago and for that, I have not attended any meeting and I don’t know the stage they are. It is what we have to be very sincere about. There is lack of consciousness in the project called Umuaka. Let us bring out that consciousness, let us bring out that commitment and move our town forward. we can guarantee security in Umuaka up to 70 percent.”
On the final note, the royal father expressed his deep disappointment over the failure of traders and buyers in Afor Umuaka to observe the Covid19 preventive measures.” It is true my brother, Today is Afor day, you will observe that Afor Umuaka will be crowded.”
He appealed to the Imo State Government to introduce more palliative measures for the Imo people who have suffered a lot due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in the state.
Umuaka Times gathered that other royal fathers from Umuaka and some towns in Njaba Local Government Council also graced the event in their royal attires.
