Fresh Fela breaks the Internet with a new single.
1 min readThe rising and sensational Afrobeat star Fresh Fela, has dropped a new single which is now making waves in Lagos and other parts of the country. The song which is titled Banjo, talks about some fake men of God who have turned churches into investments and keep on collecting tithes to enjoy good life and move around with private security while their members are gripped by rising poverty.
The Banjo song which had the hands of ace sound engineer and producer David Animasaun is already becoming a national anthem among lovers of core Afrobeat music in Nigeria and some West African countries. Fresh Fela whose real name is Diwa Godfrey Muapa, told Umuaka Times that the song Banjo, brought out the real Fela in him and it took a lot of energy both from him and others who worked on the song at the Dolphin Estate based recording studio known as Sculogic Sound where the sond was recorded.
After listening to the song, Afrobeat superstar Seun Kuti told Umuaka Times that he likes the song. From the look of things, Fresh Fela whose first album, titled Wahala Dey may be among the lineup of Nigerian artistes who will perform at this year’s Felabration event in remembrance of the late Afrobeat originator, Baba Anikulakpo Kuti popularly known as Fela.
