A few members of Old Boys’ Association High School Umuaka class of 1987 otherwise known as G-87 last week shared some palliatives to some of her members with poor sources of income. Dr Kenneth Nnaka’s foundation known as Poorest of the Poor Foundation partnered with G-87 class of 1987 and came up with the palliative solution. A member of the G-87 group made a donation of N1million which was shared among three members.

The event which was held in the pool bar of Hotel Plano Umuaka, attracted some members of G-87 class of High School Umuaka. The event began by 11 am on Tuesday, 11 June 2024 after the opening prayers. Mr. Chidi Obi, the president of G87 in his opening speech told the audience that the G-87 palliative distribution committee chairman, Mr. Ifeanyi Morris and other members of the committee had worked tirelessly before deciding on the rightful beneficiaries of the palliatives. The president used the opportunity and thanked the committee members for the good work. He further told the gathering why the association had deemed it fit to uplift her members whose economy is very weak. He also reminded the beneficiaries of the palliatives to always remain focused on anything they do and tasked them to make good account of the cash gifts and the motorcycle.

Of the four members of G87 who received the palliatives, three of them got cash gifts while a star palliative of a motorcycle went to one person. It was the foundation of Dr Kenneth Nnaka that provided the motorcycle.

At the end of the event, Victor Oguike, the representative of Dr Kenneth Nnaka and Mrs Chioma Anoruo manager, Hotel Plano, thanked the G87 group for their kindness. According to them, the action of the group is in line with the fundamental principles of the Poorest of the Poor Foundation.

The beneficiaries also made their own vote of thanks and assured both the G-87 set of High School Umuaka and the Poorest of the Poor Foundation that they would make good use of the palliatives.
