2 min readIt was a big celebration in Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community of Njaba LGA Imo State on Friday November 18, 2022 as the Catholic Bishop of Orlu Diocese Rev Dr Augustine Ukwuoma lived up to his words and presented a parish priest to the Catholic community of Obinwanne Umuaka. The new and first priest of St Patrick’s Catholic Parish is Reverend Father Anthony Onyedikachi Ohams.
When Umuaka Times arrived at the church service yesterday which was conducted by Bishop Ukwuoma himself as well as many other reverend fathers including Father Ukwuoma, the parish priest of St Mary’s Church and Father Eburuaja, the church was filled with many catholic followers including those from other parishes within and outside Umuaka. Father Anthony Ohams who was also in the church service was full of joy and smiles as the service went on.
By the time the service came to an end, the bishop and his reverends were led to the official residence of the new parish priest which is within the compound for dedication and blessings. It can be recalled that Eze Justin Ezeala single handedly built the official residence of the priest.
From the findings Umuaka Times made, the new parish priest Father Anthony Ohams was so happy to be associated with the catholic community of Obinwanne and the entire Obinwanne community as well as others who were present during the event also demonstrated their joy. St Patrick Obinwnna is now a complete parish of its own. Reverend Father Anthony Ohams is from Umuchu in Anambra State and he had worked in Ihioma previously.
