A deep look into the personality of Dr Gertie Anyanwoke seriously confirms that the woman of substance has acquired several awards, honours and titles from diverse professional and non-professional bodies both in Nigeria and the Americas. Each award Dr Gertie had received came as a confirmation of the recognition of all her selfless and enterprising efforts to save humanity in the field of medical practice and social service.

IN 2004, Dr Gertie Chimeka Anyanwoke won the New York City Health and Hospital Minority Women in Medicine Leadership Award. In Baton Rouge, LA, she bagged the Capital Area Human Services Total Health Program Award for 2011 to 2015.

In 2017, another prestigious award named United Nigerian Organization Presidential Award came her way. After this award, the Award of Excellence from Eko Club Louisiana Chapter was also bestowed on her.

2019 came the award of The WHEFF Center’s ” The Angel Heart Award “.

Louisiana Organization for Refugees and Immigrants (LORI) One Community ” Excellence Award” was also bestowed on her in 2021.

College Of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Students Association (COMPSA) Award of Exemplary Leadership landed in 2022. The award came with a remarkable impact as the COMPSA Secretariat was named after her in the same year.

Dr Gertie Anyanwoke also received the United Nigerian Women Association (UNWA) Leadership Award in 2023.

Other awards include the Vital Awards, People’s Choice Award 2013, Vitals Awards, People’s Choice Award 2014, Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award 2013, Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award 2014, Ten Top Doctors- award 2014.

 

As if all these awards were not enough, she also won NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home Award 2017, Bridges to Excellence: Physician Office Systems Recognition Program Award 2018.

AS Isiozi Akah community made a bold move to reward this excellent and silent achiever with a chieftaincy title of Ugo Mmuta 1 of Isiozi Akah, it goes to confirm the fact that a prophetess has indeed been recognized in her home town.

The Amurie Omanze community a couple of years ago, honoured her with the Ozo Ndu 1 of Amurie – Ancient Kingdom , Gburugburu. In Umuaka, she is the Ada Ugo Eji Aga Mba 1 of Umuaka Ancient Kingdom, Gburugburu and thirdly, the Opuruiche Nwanyi 1 of Nsukwe Ubakala, Umuahia. The Akah Ebe Iri community bestowed her with the Eziada Akah Ebeiri .
