1 min readThe Labour Party candidate for Njaba State Constituency Imo State, Chief Nnadi Dire has debunked the rumour making the rounds that he has decamped to the ruling APC. Recall that last week several political whatsapp groups in the state shared the purported breaking news which held that Hon Dire has decamped to APC and thereby dropped his ambition to go to Imo House of Assembly come 2023.
While commenting on the development when Umuaka Times contacted him last week over the incident, Hon Dire totally dismissed the claim as rumour and further confirmed that he had no intentions of leaving Labour Party. He accused the members of opposition APC as the weak brains behind the rumour.
Hon Dire used the opportunity and appealed to Niaba voters to vote in the Labour Party from the presidential level to the chancellorship level in the state. In his own words, Hon Dire said: “I belong to the Labour Party and I urge our people to vote for Labour Party. Labour party is the only national political party right now and Nigerians have to understand that and make it work.”
Hon Dire openly accused one Collins from Okwudor as being the man behind the rumour. According to him, Collins allegedly embezzled over N2 million he, Hon Dire gave him to carry out some special duties for his campaign organization.
