How Miss Duruigbo wake keep turned into a night of celebration.
2 min readAt the wakes night of Miss Duruigbo which was Sunday 3 January 2021, many things took place as the people who came for the night tried to celebrate the woman who recorded a lot of life achievements. Groups like Umuonyiriegbe Family Union, Umuezikoha women group, Christian Mothers Association, Diamond Club of Nigeria, Umuada and a host of others including Christian Fathers Organization were all seated to celebrate and thank God for the life of the late Miss Duruigbo which she used judiciously.
When Umuaka Times arrived at the Duruigbo family compound that eventful night, the compound had almost filled to its capacity. Umuaka Times took record of the events going on. The interior decoration workers were noticed beautifying and decorating the lying in state room where the remains of Miss Duruigbo would be laid in-state the following day. Also the undertakers were seen trying to mark the exact spot the grave would be dug.
Many guys who had not seen each other for years were observed at the venue hugging and exchanging greetings with each other. Most of the groups present, did their best to stay long into the night so as to accord honour to the dead.
The Diamond Club corner was made lively as Umuaka Times publisher was busy cracking jokes with some members of the club who never allowed him to leave the venue on time. There was also a live traditional band from Achara which entertained the people with some of her songs.
Professor Emeka Duruigbo, one of the children of Miss Josephine Duruigbo who returned from the United States took time to greet some of the guests and welcomed them all. He cracked jokes with a lot of them and displayed his happiness at the huge number of people who came to stay with the family.
By 12 midnight, most of the guests had left the Duruigbo compound in order to prepare for the Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of late Miss Josephine Nwaulari Duruigbo few hours from then.
