Imo 2023: TJ Ehirim gathers nationwide support.
3 min readThe political ambition of Dr TJ Ehirim to become the next chief occupant of Government House Owerri has been gathering momentum across several quarters both in and outside Nigeria. Dr TJ Ehirim who is well educated and informed on contemporary issues is a native of Umuele Amazano Autonomous Community Njaba LGA Imo State. A pharmacist by profession and a businessman as well, Ehirim in the recent time has been making powerful and open consultations across the country where he has paid courtesy calls to some prominent Nigerian politicians in almost all the six geo-political zones of the country.
The political vehicle which all his consultations rely upon is known as Project TJ Ehirim. The group has been able to create grassroots organizations in all the local governments of the state. These grassroots organizations on their own part have been recruiting new members more than one year ago and still counting. The latest support for the TJ Ehirim movement came from Ehirim’s Umuele Amazano community where the sons and daughters of the community have been able to raise some millions of naira to the project. In a recent interview with Umuaka Times, Chief and Lolo John Dike Anozie, the Akuwudike 1 and the Oji Ulo Eme Ogo 1 of Amazano, an illustrious son of Umuele Amazano and a pharmacist like Ehirim himself, extolled the virtues of Chief TJ Ehirim and appealed to the good people of Imo State to support the political ambition of Chief TJ Ehirim.
Umuaka Times also gathered that there are many other individuals from Umuele Amazano who have personally identified with the project in diverse ways. Across Imo State, donations to support the project are still ongoing at certain levels and many others have as well identified with the project by making some huge amounts of money as their own support without their names mentioned.
From the time the project to rescue Imo State began, TJ Ehirim has been able to tour and visit the following personalities and each of them gave his support:
Engr. Prince Arthur Eze, (Eze n’Ukpo; Ozoigbo Ndu) and a frontline African businessman and philanthropist. Dr. Primus Odili, a highly influential Anambra APGA stalwart and the immediate past Chief of Staff to former Governor Obiano. Barr. Steve Nwoga, leader of APGA in Imo State and a former gubernatorial aspirant. HRM King Ateke Tom, the Okwechiri, Ochi 1 of Okochiri Kingdom, Kalabariland, Rivers State. Engr. Chief Marcel Ifejiofor, an APGA chieftain and the immediate past Commissioner for Works, Anambra State.
Hon. Chidi Ofoegbu, former gubernatorial candidate, Imo State. Hon. Victor Diala, former Secretary, Imo State APGA and the Chairman, Imo State YPP. Ambassador Victor Nwachukwu, a distinguished diplomat and strategist. Nwachukwu is the former Nigerian Ambassador to Guinea, France and Mali.
Others are His Eminence Cardinal Onayekan, the Papal representative in Africa and the head of the Holy Catholic Church in Nigeria. Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, UNN Alumnus and the governor of Anambra State. Prof. Okey Esimone, UNN Alumnus and the Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. Prof. A.A. Attama, UNN Alumnus; APGA stalwart and the former Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Nigeria. Dr. Richard Agbarakwe, the President of Medical Practitioners Association in Imo State. Prof. C.B.C. Ohanuzue, a notable Imo leader of thought and the incumbent President General of St. Augustine’s Old Boys Association Nkwerri.
Chief. John Iwuala, a high profile APGA stalwart and the incumbent chairman of Imo State APGA. Mr. Chinonso Uba (Nonso Nkwa), media specialist, broadcaster and a notable youth activist. Nonso is known as the Golden Voice of Ozisa Radio, Owerri, Imo State. Prof. Ken I. Ozoemena, Research Chair, the University of Wits Watersrand, Johannesburg South Africa. Hon. Chief Okey Nzenwa, an Imo State born businessman and a former personal aide to Gov. Peter Odili. Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, a presidential aspirant and an APC stalwart. Nwajiuba is the current Minister of State for Education, Nigeria. Rt. Hon. Chief Chuma Nnaji, a notable Imo politician, staunch PDP stalwart, former Commissioner for Information, former Deputy Speaker, Imo State Nigeria and former deputy gubernatorial candidate, Imo State, Nigeria.
The list can go on and on as consultations are still ongoing. In the next few weeks from now, more consultations and bridge buildings are excepted to take place.
