Chief Victor Onyeka Esomonu, an Amiyi-Akah born politician and an aspirant to Njaba Local Government Council chairmanship has disclosed why he has decided to go into politics. Chief Esomonu who is the founder and executive director Kpapkado Foundation made this disclosure in a brief interview he had over the weekend with the American correspondent of Umuaka Times. In simple terms, Chief Esomonu told Umuaka Times that he was going into politics to have the opportunity to better the living conditions of Njaba indigenes and inhabitants. In the cause of the interview, Chief Esomonu seriously lamented that Njaba Local Government is poorly represented in the distribution of government resources in the state. According to him he has been able to pencil down all the areas he would direct his energy on, when he secures the opportunity as the next chairman of Njaba Local Government Council.

The Umuaka Times reporter asked the youthful politician to explain how he would be able to achieve his political ambition as he lives in far away United States of America. In his response, the Chief said, “Living outside the shores of Nigeria doesn’t make me a stranger, I’m a grassroots man. I know my people and my people know me. When the chips are down, we will know who is who. Onyeka Victor Esomonu make things happen.”

Esomonu believes that he will be able to achieve his dreams through the flagship of All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA. He described APGA as the party for the people and of the people and went further to appeal to the people to identify with the party across Southeast Nigeria. Asked to explain how he intends to administer the positive changes in Njaba, when elected, Chief Esomonu told Umuaka Times thus: “I will bring home what is obtainable in the Western world where I reside. Improved school system, good environmental sanitation, welfare of rural people and making the security of our people paramount to. Revival of our cultural heritage and empowering our women and youths.”

The administration of local government councils in the state, from the presentations made by Chief Esomonu is nothing to write home about. Esomonu believes that he is coming with a mantra to change the status quo. “The present local government administrations in Imo State are not functioning because the state government is starving them of funds, hopefully the new Federal laws that give local governments autonomy will stay. I have come to render selfless service to the good people of Njaba. My performance will determine my political future in Nigeria.”

In his conclusion, Chief Esomonu appealed to youths to obtain their voters’ cards and be prepared to use them positively in 2023.
