A prominent stakeholder in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, philanthropist, businessman and a friend of the poor, High Chief Chidi Appear Osuagwu, has appealed to Njaba people to support Hon. Victor Obinna Orgazi, popularly known as “Brainbox,” to represent Njaba at the Imo State House of Assembly in the 2027 elections. Chief Osuagwu made this known during an interaction with correspondents of Umuaka Times last week, where he described Orgazi as a trustworthy leader with a strong record of philanthropy and community service.

According to the businessman and philanthropist, Brainbox has consistently identified with the less privileged through personal interventions aimed at improving the welfare of youths, students, and vulnerable persons within Umuaka and neighbouring communities.
“Obinna Orgazi is a man the community can trust. He has done a lot for the youths and has used his personal resources to support students and the poor in Umuaka and beyond,” Chief Osuagwu stated while holding talks with Umuaka Times.
The community leader also expressed concern over the challenges confronting local government councils in Nigeria, particularly in Njaba LGA. He listed corruption, inadequate funding, political interference from state governments, lack of autonomy, poor infrastructure, manpower shortages, and inefficient service delivery as major obstacles hindering grassroots development.
Chief Osuagwu, however, expressed confidence that Brainbox possesses the leadership capacity to reposition the local government system and improve service delivery if elected into the State Assembly.
He noted that effective local governance remains critical to community development, stressing that local councils play important roles in the provision of basic amenities such as road construction and maintenance, waste management, healthcare services, primary education support, water supply, drainage systems, and market administration.
The man who has multiple chieftaincy titles in the state further highlighted the importance of local governments in promoting grassroots development through community projects, support for agriculture and local trade, employment generation, and infrastructure development. According to him, local councils also contribute to maintaining law and order through community security initiatives, environmental regulation, conflict resolution, and collaboration with traditional institutions.
Chief Osuagwu added that local governments encourage democratic participation by bringing governance closer to the people and creating opportunities for citizens to participate actively in leadership and decision-making processes.
He therefore appealed to eligible voters in Njaba LGA to rally behind Hon. Victor Obinna Orgazi in the 2027 elections, insisting that his leadership qualities and community-oriented approach make him the right candidate to drive meaningful development in the area such as Umuaka and all the autonomous communities in Njaba. Honourable Obinna Orgazi last week picked an expression of interest form from the Nigerian Democratic Congress NDC. Umuaka Times also gathered that Chief Goddy Udeagwu, a barrister at law is also contesting for the same position from the same political party.
