Insecurity Ikwubuo calls for arms legalization.
2 min readAmerican based Akalite and a commentator on national issues Mr Victor Ikwubuo has tasked the Federal Government of Nigeria through the national assembly to make it legal for Nigerians to be carrying arms in defence of themselves, especially in this period of terrorism. Ikwubuo who made this call while sharing his views on the state of the nation in Umuaka Times Institute lamented that terrorists have killed many armless civilians and will still kill more if nothing serious is done to stop the killings. He went on to blame the government for this insecurity that has spread like wildfire across the country. “It is unquestionably clear that under Buhari Nigeria is now a completely failed state. The only remedy and not the a complete solution is for the people to arm-up themselves for self-protection and self-preservation.”
Ikwubuo went ahead to give more reasons for the call he has made. Hear him: “In as much as I abhor bloodshed, there are only but two options left for escape from the Nigeria’s economic sociopolitical quagmire and death traps. And these two are, an epoch revolution and or the balkanization of Lord Luggard’s disjointed edifice called Nigeria.”
On the security situation in the South East, he lamented that “IPOB/ESN could offer a temporary relief against insecurity and murderous escapades in Nigeria, but if IPOB/ESN is not properly harnessed, organized, and leashed, to borrow the words of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Somalia’s, South Sudan’s power plays and ‘warlordism’ may be children’s plays, when South East excises from the zoo.”
