Iwuchukwu Iwuaku loses elder sister.

Angolan based businessman, hotelier and philanthropist Mazi Iwuaku Iwuchukwu has lost his elder sister, the late Madam Celestina Nwigbeze Duruaku (nee Iwuchukwu). The sad news was disclosed to Umuaka Times last week when the newspaper called on him. From what Umuaka Times gathered over the weekend, the late Mrs Duruaku was born in 1947 and she died after a brief illness. It was confirmed that the late Madam Duruaku who hailed from Ugbele-Okwu in Ugbele Akah Autonomous Community was married in Isiozi Akah in Njaba LGA Imo State..

According to the press statement Umuaka Times obtained from Mazi Iwuaku Iwuchukwu which was signed by Barrister Festus Duruaku for the family, the rites of passage for the late Mrs Duruaku begin on Wednesday 17th January 2024 with a Christian wakes night in her family house in Isiozi Akah.


On Thursday January 18, 2024, her remains leave Umuaka Hospital mortuary for a brief stop-over at Iwuchukwu Duruakuzuruahu’s compound in Ugbele Okwu in Ugbele Akah.

By 8:30 am, the remains of the late Mrs Celestina will lie in state in her husband’s compound for mourners to pay their last respect.

By 10 am on the same day, there will be a funeral Mass for the repose of the soul of the departed at St Joseph’s Catholic Church Isiozi Akah. Internment follows immediately by mid-day.

Many people both from far and near are expected during the burial of the woman who was a devote Christian mother and a top community leader. The late Madam Celestina Nwigbeze Duruaku died at the age of 76.
