The family of the late Mr Kelvin Iwuofor popularly known as Enugu has fixed the burial of the matriarch of the family, the late Mrs Mary Ezihuo Iwuofor to hold on Thursday 17 August 2023.
This information was disclosed to Umuaka Times reporters when they visited the family compound of the Iwuofors in Umulolo Umuezeala Uba Umuaka Njaba LGA Imo State Nigeria some days ago, where the burial ceremonies are billed to hold.
In a press statement issued and signed by Mr Geoffrey Iwuofor on behalf of the entire Iwuofor family, a wakes night and service of songs have been slated to hold in the Iwuofor family compound on the night of Wednesday 16 August 2023 in Umulolo Umuezeala Uba Umuaka. During the wakes night, the youths of Umuezeala, Umuezeala Christian fathers women and other community based organizations and individuals will be present to pay their last respect to the woman of substance who was also known as Eziada
On Thursday 17 August 2023, by 8 am, the remains of the diseased will leave the mortuary of Umuaka Community Hospital to the family compound for lying in state. By 9 am of the same day, a funeral Mass will hold at St Mary’s Catholic Church Umuaka for the repose of her soul. Umuaka Times gathered that several organizations have indicated their interest to be part of the Mass.
By 12 mid-day, the remains of the late Madam Mary Iwuofor will be interred for her glorious passage in the family compound. Outing Mass follows on Sunday August 20 at St Mary’s Catholic Church Umuaka.
The late Mrs Mary Ezihuo (nee Otuonye) left behind her children, grand children and a host of others. She was 84 years old.
