Madam Patience Ojinnakafor burial on Dec. 22.

The royal family of Ojinnaka in Umuezikoha Uba Umuaka, Njaba LGA has announced the burial date of the late Madam Patience Ojinnaka who passed on a couple of months ago. This announcement was contained in a press statement issued from London by the first son of the diseased, Chief Prince Okechukwu Ojinnaka, an attorney at law. In the press statement which was obtained by the  British correspondent of Umuaka Times, the first son of the retired teacher, mother, grandmother, sister and a devote Christian mother, announced that the burial of his late mum has been slated to hold on Friday 22 December 2023 in the compound of the Ojinnaka royal family Uba Umuaka.

The burial program and the rites of passage of the late Mrs Patience Uwakaraonyenma Ojinnaka (Omenka) disclosed that on Thursday December 21, 2023, there would be a Christian wakes night at the Ojinnaka compound. This begins by 8 pm. By 8 am the following day being Friday 22, December 2023, the remains of the deceased will arrive Umuaka in a motorcade from Federal Medical Centre FMC Owerri to the Ojinnaka royal family. The remains will lie in state between the hours of 8 am till 9:40 am when the family, friends and well-wishers and other mourners will head straight to St Mary’s Catholic Church for a requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

By 12 midday, the internment follows at the Ojinnaka family where the St Mary’s Catholic Church Choir, Uba CWO etc will all be in attendance.

Umuaka Times British correspondent gathered that during her life time, Madam Patience Ojinnaka was a frontline motivator, social builder and a foremost women leader and positive change agent. For years, she served as the secretary to Umuaka Women Association Lagos Branch for a period of 12 years. She was also the secretary-general of Odoziaku Social Club of Umuaka, Lagos Branch and she also worked as the chairperson of Uba Women’s Association as well as the chairperson Girls Secondary Technical School Umuaka, Secretary and coordinator Umuaka Women Dance album launching in Lagos over two decades ago.

On the areas of human developments in terms of good health, the late madam Patience Ojinnaka was the coordinator of other women who remodeled the maternity ward of Umuaka Community Hospital.  On her role as a sound and amazing amazon, Umuaka Times also gathered that during her time, the late madam Ojinnaka who was also an Ezinne worked as the secretary of Eti-Osa Local Government Council Lagos State and regularly worked as an electoral officer for national and state elections.

To write about the social and supportive activities of the late madam Patience Ojinnaka will actually take some days to gather some of her activities because she was indeed a woman dedicated to her teaching profession, social services and faith to God. Madam Patience Ojinnaka died at the age of 75. Left behind to mourn her are her children, grandchildren, extended family members, friends and well-wishers including the chief mourner, Chief Prince Okechukwu Ojinnaka also known as Ikemba, who is a well-established legal practitioner based in the United Kingdom.
