3 min readFrom the fillers Umuaka Times gathered over the weekend via the chairman of the burial committee of the late HRH Eze Aloysius Chukwuemeka Amadioha Ojinnaka, every arrangement pointed towards the successful passage of the late royal father has been put in place almost 100 percent. Speaking with an Umuaka Times special correspondent on the updates concerning the burial, Chief Louis Duru, a commissioner and a public relations consultant disclosed to Umuaka Times that on the burial date, several activities have been mapped out to accord the last respect to the late royal father. Chief Duru and his burial committee have been working round the clock in ensuring a big success for the burial of the late royal father.
On the wakes night, prominent Nollywood stars and other comedians including Mr Ibu will be present to thrill the mourners to a lot of Igbo folklores, jokes, proverbs, wisdom and philosophy. Several live bands including local musicians and DJs have also been incorporated into the plans for the great burial. Umuaka Times was reliably informed that during the burial, all the presidents-general of each autonomous community in Umuaka Municipal Council will lead a delegation of their community to the great event and each community has a special canopy preserved and prepared for them. No event of any sort will take place on this date (21 December 2021) in Umuaka except the burial of the royal father.
There is also a special and exclusive arrangement for royal fathers both from Umuaka and other parts of Igboland “A solid arrangement has been successfully made for where all the royal fathers will sit,” a source told Umuaka Times.
On the issue of security, a handful of security operatives has been hired to ensure that no criminal activities will be recorded during the burial. Uniformed and plain cloth security details will be on patrol from the wakes night to the end of the event the following day.
The chairman of the burial committee, Chief Louis Duru used the opportunity and thanked those who have made several contributions towards the burial of the royal father and went ahead and appealed for more contributions. He thanked especially, market men and women at Ime Afor Umuaka who volunteered not to open for business on the burial date.
On the media coverage, the committee has been able to involve both print and electronic media outfits in the country but among all of them, Umuaka Times has a special slot as the Official Newspaper of the Event.
The final burial rites of the late 72 year old royal father begins by 6 am as his body leaves the Aladimma Mortuary in a royal motorcade to his palace in Uba Umuaka Njaba LGA. By 8 am the same day, the body is expected to arrive the palace which will then be received by the Council of Chiefs and members of Ojinnaka royal family. By 8:30, the body lies in state for mourners to pay their last respect. At exactly 10 o’clock, the body arrives St Mary’s Catholic Church for a requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of the royal father. The Church closes by 12 midday and by sharp 1,the body is finally laid to rest at the Ojinnaka family compound.
On Sunday December 26, there will be an outing service at St Mary’s Catholic by the Ojinnaka royal family, friends and well wishers.
