3 min read

From the pages of history, the month of August has always made a remarkable impact across the globe in view of childbirths. Top global personalities and famous individuals like Madonna, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Barack Obama, Chris Hemsworth, Michael Jackson, Charlize Theron and more were all born in the month of August in several big cities around the world. Narrow it down to August 14, 1959, America recorded the birth of Magic Johnson who took the world of basketball by storm and made fame and fortune in the sport. Fast forward to the same date of August 14 in 1986, something remarkable happened in Umuaka. Little Miss Loveline Chidera Nwokike made her glorious debut entry into the world in the famous Nwokike family of Okporo Orlu.

Chidera Nwokike who is fondly addressed as Ndelo by her close friends happens to be the last child the Almighty God gave to her parents Mr and Mrs Dona Nwokike. It is on record that Chidera whose official surname has since changed to Emezu due to marriage, is the daughter and last child of the owner of Umuaka based Nwamma Maternity Hospital, the health facility where many Akalites were born.

Like mother like daughter, Chidera took after her mother and she is today a nurse based in Massachusetts United States of America where she spends most of her time working for humanity as she saves lives as a working nurse.

As a well groomed village girl, brought up under very strict Christian background, Chidera as a nurse believes that they as nurses treat and God heals.

In marking her birthday today, Mrs Chidera Emezu partnered with Emelong Foundation where she distributed cash and some items to selected economically weak families in Umuaka and Okporo Orlu to support their businesses and livelihoods.

The love the Nwanna Maternity owner and her husband have for Umuaka multiplied like a positive virus and affected their daughter Chidera. On several occasions, Umuaka Times was reliably informed that highly uncountable Umuaka women who have births at the Nwamma Maternity but had no money to pay for the bills were left off the hook of debt burden by the Nwokikes. At times, they went as far as giving money and providing transport to such women to convey such them and their new born babies home.

Today, Mrs Chidera Emezu is successfully trading on that part as she gets herself involved in various charity works unannounced. To demonstrate her love for Umuaka where she and her other siblings were born and bred, she intends to channel her energy towards Nwanna Maternity Hospital and bring it up to modern standards!

As Mrs Loveline Chidera Emezu (nee Nwokike) marks her birthday today, several activities have been lined up for the big show. First among the activities are her charity works with Emelong Foundation. Prayers and service of songs in her family both in and outside Nigeria and her charity works in the United States also constitute a better part of the activities.

Several of her friends both in and outside Nigeria have also reached out to Umuaka Times to register their birthday greetings to the woman of substance who came, saw and continues to conquer.
