1 min read

Mr. Nnamdi Martins Duruojiaku, the executive director and founder, care Smile Lift Foundation has made a passionate appeal to Akalites who run foundations and those wishing to create more, to endeavour to embark on developmental programs in Umuaka. This appeal was made last week when Umuaka Times visited the Ime Afor office of Care Smile Lift Foundation for an interview with the young executive.

Mr. Duruojiaku who is also known as Don Martins expressly commended the efforts of Chief Emeka Ibegbulem, the founder of Emelong Foundation on the rehabilitation and intervention programs his foundation has begun in Riverside Primary School. According to Chief Duruaku, “if one foundation in Umuaka takes up the task of giving its host community borehole water, the entire 10 villages in Umuaka will certainly have enough water and some may even have two.”

On the other issues concerning the entire Umuaka, Don Martins lamented on the carefree lifestyles of the younger ones in the community. The Paris based Duruojiaku who is also an international model told Umuaka Times that since he returned from France, he had seen a lot of positive changes and negative developments as well, especially the social behaviour of the youths. He therefore called for a serious and deep-rooted capacity building and reorientation for the youths.
