Oghu Okwuama 2023: “Why we struck.”Chidi Onwubuariri.
1 min readTop community leader, youth activist, cultural revivalist and businessman, Sir Chidi Onwubuariri has disclosed to Umuaka Times why the youths of the Okwuama London community in Ibele Autonomous Community decided to host the Oghu Okwuama London 2023 edition.
In a brief interview with Umuaka Times held last week, Onwubuariri disclosed to the reporters of the newspaper who called on him that it was love, good neighbourliness, the spirit of oneness and the happiness associated with oghu festival that inspired the Okwuama London youths to organize the epoch-making oghu carnival. According to Onwubuariri who is also known as Mr Oil and Gas, the oghu dance is a pure carnival. “This is the first of its kind here in Umuaka. Now that we have started, we will be hosting the oghu carnival every year and our chosen venue is Eke Ibele market square.”
On what to expect during the event, Onwubuariri also confirmed to Umuaka Times that there would be what is known as barbecue outing where guests will be served with free suya meat during the oghu dance. He ceased the opportunity and invited all Akalites and their friends to come and witness the great cultural event which holds on Saturday August 5, 2023.
For making the event a possibility, Sir Chidi Onwubuairi thanked his fellow kinsmen who contributed in one way or another to the success of the Okwuama London Oghu Carnival 2023.
