Oghu Okwuama Ibele holds on August 5 2023.

The much awaited oghu festival dance organized by the youths of Okwuoma London Ibele has been scheduled to hold on Saturday August 5 2023.The special oghu dance according to the information obtained from Sir Chidi Onwubuariri, a top community leader and youthful activist from Ibele, the oghu dance has been packaged in stout resemblance of a yearly carnival that meets up with international standards.

Umuaka Times gathered from highly dependable sources that the oghu dancers have been carefully selected across the entire Umuaka community where the best of them were shortlisted and contacted to take part in the oghu carnival.


On the side of security on the day of the event, the oghu committee has also made concrete arrangements for proper security presence before, during and after the big show.

Umuaka Times gathered that the event which is the first of its kind in the community is sponsored by the illustrious sons of the community such as, Sir Chidi Onwubuariri, Dr Emeka Nwokedi, Sir Oliver Iheme, Mr Benjo Iheme, Engineer Ife Iheme, Engineer Nnamdi Nwokedi, Mazi Eddy Nwokedi, Engineer Okey Nwokedi, Barrister Uzoma 12-12,Mr Chimezie Ibegbulem, Mr Uche Obi, Mr Ikenna Nwokedi, Mr Livinus Duruojikeya, Mr Ifeanyi Ikwu, Mr Paschal Ikwu, Mr Christian Mbakwe and Mr Isaac Mbakwe.

The takeoff time for the event is 12 midday while the date as announced earlier, still remains Saturday 5, 2023.

For the promotion of the event which Umuaka Times has tagged Oghu Okwuama London Cultural Carnival 2023, some top personalities across the state have been invited as special guests. The DPO of Njaba Police Division, Emere Martins and Hon Ozioma Worship, the house member representing Njaba LGA in Imo State House of Assembly will lead some of their friends and colleagues to the historic event. There are also other top personalities both in and outside Umuaka too numerous to mention who will be gracing the occasion.

Chief Goddy Amadike, the oghu chief priest will usher in the big masquerades of the event who are the royal fathers from Ibele Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Rufus Anyanwu, the Achazie the fourth of Ibele and Eze Caesar Duruegbusuo, the Ezedike the 4th of Umuele Amazano. The two royal fathers have confirmed and endorsed the event. Umuaka Times has been penciled down as the official newspaper of the event.
