High profile Akalite, philanthropist and social worker, Sir victor E Amuzie popularly known as Okotex and his wife, Lady Precious C. Amuzie have built and donated a Virgin Mary grotto to Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Akakor Autonomous Community, Umuaka Municipal Council Njaba LGA of Imo State.

This was made public last week, when the Umuaka Times correspondent in America called on Sir Victor Amuzie who is a an American based medical practitioner. Dr Amuzie who confirmed that he and his wife indeed built and donated the grotto to the Catholic community in Amakor went further to give God the glory. According to him, the donation was in honour and memory of his late parents, Chief Hyacinth E Amuzie (British Man) and Mrs Martina N. Amuzie.

Umuaka Times gathered that St Michael’s Parish in Amakor received the grotto with joy as the parish priest, Rev Father Bernard Ugwoegbu has already dedicated the shrine a couple of days ago.

While commenting on the project, Sir Okotex described the decision by him and his wife to donate the grotto to God as divine. “My wife and I really thank God for using us to build the grotto. We are also very happy to the entire Amakor Catholic community at St Michael’s for their prayers and support.”

The couple used the opportunity to appeal to the entire Amakor indigenes and Umuaka in general to always remember them in their prayers and pray for peace in Umuaka as we are already in the Lent period. Efforts to speak with the parish priest of St Michael’s Catholic Church Amakor were not successful.
