The Imo House of Assembly candidate under Labour Party in the last general election in Imo State, Chief McDonald Dire has consoled the victims of the recent flood victims in Umuaka. Chief Dire made a donation of N50, 000 to some of the victims whose houses collapsed during the heavy downpour. From the list Umuaka Times gathered some days after the flood disaster, two houses of people from Uba who are not economically strong fell down. There was also the case of an orphan from Uba who lost a lot. The three of them benefited from the money given by Hon Dire.

Another community that was affected was Obinwanne where a hot and a fence collapsed. There were also some other persons whose houses did not fall but suffered heavy losses during the heavy rain. Last week, another Akalite based in Ghana, Mr. John Kingsley Ogadimma Nwanyanwu (aka) Ogbuorie also made a donation to the victims. He donated the sum of N40,000 and the money has since been shared among some of the victims.

Speaking to the Umuaka Times correspondent in America, Hon Dire who lives in New York reminded Ndi Njaba not to sell their votes nor waste it in the November 11 2023 governorship election in the state. “In politics, you cast your vote to those who will serve you when elected, not those who will not carry you along.”

Hon Dire condemned the outright insensitivity of the government over the deplorable conditions of almost all the roads in Njaba LGA of the state. To fix these problems in the state and the local council, Dire urged Imo voters to go out on November 11 2023 and cast their votes to Labour Party. He finally extended his greetings to all the indigenes of Njaba LGA and most especially Umuaka citizens for their efforts in making sure that democracy becomes a household name in their different localities.
