Miss Ozichi Villette Egeonu. Does the name ring a bell? Naturally one may conclude that it does not but last week, the name became one of the most talked about in the social media space when Umuaka Times hit the Nigeria social media and mainstream news circles with the breaking news that Miss Ozichi Villette Egeonu has emerged as the first female pilot from Umuaka both in the UK and Nigeria. Although the breaking news did not mention her name but several Akalites placed calls to Umuaka Times to get a glimpse of the personality behind the beautiful damsel in question.

Miss Ozichi Villette Egeonu is an Amiyi Akah born high profile personality who legendary philosophers like the late Bob Marley would describe as a Daughter of Zion. Miss Egeonu has, to a very large extent armed herself with academic laurels and honours like her father Dr Ikenna Egeonu and her mother Gloria, a Lagos based attorney.

From what Umuaka Times gathered, the new and young 24 year old pilot did her aviation studies at Aviation South West in the United Kingdom where she duly obtained her flying certificate after undergoing systematic training at the great institute.

The certificate issued to her reads, “Flight Experience Certificate. Aviation South West certifies that the above named has successfully taken the controls and completed an airborne experience flight in a PA28 Warrior.” The certificate was issued in February 2025 by one of the instructors of the great aviation institute.

The motion picture Umuaka Times shared last week showed the new pilot powering a big aircraft with her supervisor and instructor sitting beside her during a smooth “ride”.

Miss Ozichi Villette Egeonu, an international lawyer and pilot.

Who actually is Miss Ozichi Villette Egeonu? Well. Umuaka Times findings showed that the lady did not emerge from nowhere and became a pilot. She is indeed the first female pilot from Umuaka. She had her BSc in Law and Diplomacy at the prestigious Babcock University in Nigeria before she proceeded to the University of Portsmouth United Kingdom where she obtained her Masters in International Criminal Justice and Intelligence in 2024.

The proud mother of Miss Ozichi Villette Egeonu whose daughter took after her and read law while holding talks with Umuaka Times gave all the glories to God for the success and excellence achieved by her daughter who has made not only the family but the entire Igboland proud via her chosen careers in law and aviation. In her own words, “Is God and I dedicate it to all the Generation Z children in Umuaka and appeal to them to shun drugs, cultism and focus more on their studies. With hard work and diligence, the sky is their starting point.”

Umuaka Times findings show that from all indications, it appears that young female Akalites have taken the world by storm in what they all do both in academics and entertainment. It can be recalled that in April 2024, young Officer Cadet Owowoh Oluchukwu from Isiozi Akah made history as she became the first Nigerian female officer to graduate from the Royal Military Academy, Sand Hurst, United Kingdom. Both Owowoh and Egeonu achieved their global greatness at 24. In sports, precisely in female football, Okwuchukwu Chiamaka Cristabel last month went professional as she was signed by San Diego Wave FC of the National Women’s Soccer League in the United States of America. She has represented Nigeria at the youth international levels and world cup tournaments. Okwuchukwu is from Ugbele Akah. The 20 year old Chiamaka has been described as a female Ronaldo by several football commentators.

Miss Ozichi Villette Egeonu, the flying queen, Miss Chiamaka Okwuchukwu, the football queen and Miss Owowoh Oluchukwu, the military queen are all the modern day daughters of Zion Umuaka community has bred and given to the world to impact positive changes. This should be a wake-up call to the Generation Z Akalites to stand up and capture the universe by storm! The question now in Umuaka seems like; “We have seen the girls, where are the boys?”
