PGs, others extol Amakor over 1 year CCTV coverage.

Yesterday being Saturday 23 September 2023, Amakor community played big time host to Akalites and others when the community held its one year anniversary of successful CCTV surveillance in the community. Although the event which was billed to start by 12 mid-day started around 4 pm for reasons Umuaka Times could not ascertain.

When the event finally kicked off, the President-General of Amakor Autonomous Community Mr Ignatius Onyenuma took the microphone and welcomed the guests and explained to them why they were having the event. He traced how Mr John Bosco Meremikwu by this time last year, brought and mounted CCTV surveillance in his Amakor community totally free of charge. The CCTV Mr Meremikwu mounted has the capacity to enable the owners monitor and see what is happening in the community from any part of the world through their telephone device. It was this security measure that the community celebrated yesterday after the whole community has embraced the digital technology in the last 365 days.

All the presidents-general who attended the event commended the community and the man behind the technology and promised to convince their communities to follow the Amakor digital example.

In an interview with Umuaka Times, Mr Remmy Amuzie, the PG Ugbele-Akah demonstrated his joy over the CCTV in Amakor and confirmed that the community is now fully protected from bad boys.

Hon. V. Oguama, the PG of Ibele Autonomous Community who described Mr John Bosco Meremikwu as his in-law lamented that the boys at home have formed criminal gangs that rob Akalites. He promised that Ibele community will soon install her own CCTV and went further to call upon all the 10 communities in Umuaka to follow the Amakor example and check the rising waves of crimes in the soceity.

The President General of Ibeakpu Autonomous Community Hon. Innocent Ebekonye told Umuaka Times that now is the time of digital security and no more analogue security devices and services. He thanked Mr John Bosco Mmeremikwu and other Amakor sons and daughters for their support towards the project. He promised that his community Ibeakpu will soon start the CCTV project.

Hon Samuel Chukwumaihe, popularly known as Sam White who is the PG of Umuele Amazano Autonomous Community, in his speech, thanked the people behind the project and assured the guests that his community will be the next to install the device.

The President-General of Acharaji Autonomous Community, Chief Noel Okezuo Oguike described the project as first in history and went further and asked other communities to emulate.

Madam Imelda Nnawuaku, the woman leader of Amakor Autonomous Community in her speech extolled the community and her sons and daughters for all it has been achieving over the last years. She did a song which praised the community as a beautiful land of God.

Several persons including youths and the elderly as well as children were in attendance during the event. There was a lot to eat and drink and everybody who attended the event went home totally satisfied. The one year celebration of CCTV in Amakor was indeed a great success.
