Sir Timmy o was an embodiment of hard work, selflessness resourcefulness, integrity, honesty and above all, very passionate at helping people to succeed in their chosen areas of endeavour. He revolutionized education in Umuaka. “I succeeded in organizing extra-mural classes at that age. Even when I was teaching at Girls Technical School, I was going to High School, Ekwe Secondary School and Amurie Secondary School. In the process of teaching, I thought women who are now mothers. So, they discovered that at that point in time, the first houour they school gave me irrespective of my age to call me sir, until the Anglican Communion decided to double it. With the sir students called me, the church crowned it.”
A staunch believer in the social elevation and well being of communities and humanity, Sir Timmy O was involved in so many community activities early in life. Some of his legendary achievements centred in almost all areas of life: Christian ensuring that each family in Umuaka had a graduate, procurement of transformers for Umuaka community, prominent community leader and opinion molder, serving as a role model and mentor to youths all over the county.
A man who hailed from Orlu Zone and ensured that youths developed interest in education and simplified the teaching of Mathematics that most students at all levels have phobia for. He made a profound impact of all who met him and went out of his way to make people smile and be happy. He connected with all and taught everyone positively that came across his way.
Our dad, Sir Timmy O was a devout Anglican Christian. He was throughout his sojourn of earth, a faithful and hardworking member of the Anglican Communion with several leadership roles at his home church (St. Peters Anglican Church Ibele). He rose to the position of a Knight with his admission into the knight of Saint Christopher.
In spite of the suddenness of his death, our dad lived a fulfilled and accomplished life. He was kindness personified. His home was an oasis of the thirsty, a rest shop for the weary and a restaurant for the hungry as well as being a grooming home for the youths from Orlu zone of Imo State in particular and generality of Nigerian youths who needed further trainings to prepare them for further studies. He had good ears for the depressed, big hugs for the crushed, words of wisdom for the uninspired and good advice for the confused. He saw inhumanity in so many areas in life and condemned it. He saw human suffering and alleviated it. He saw hopelessness and gave hope. He saw peace and maintained it. He saw progress and promoted it. Above all, he saw ignorance and ignited the light of education for many!
Dad you fought the good fight, you kept the faith. We pray the good and merciful lord grant you the crown of glory and may you rest in perfect peace.
