Ezinne Patricia NwanyidabMbomaaram Mbaoma popularly called Nwanyianalualu by her kinsmen and Goment Ekiti by close friends & Mama Chima by family members was born in Umuezeala Ezisu in the then Amandugba but now Ezisu Ndugba Autonomous Community in Isu LGA. of Imo State, to Mr. & Mrs. Ihezie Anyaogu and Sara Odobiara of blessed memories.

As the first daughter of lhezie, a great farmer & business man, she was acquainted with her father’s trade (farming) early in life to support both parents in raising up her siblings. A woman with a golden heart from childhood. Stainless, spotless & caring, she sacrificed her own early education to support the growth of her siblings and ended up being the only one without a formal education.

Assisting her parents was a decision she NEVER regretted till her demise. She often said, “if there’s reincarnation, in her next world she must be educated.

MARITAL LIFE.

Mama got married to her handsome husband late Mr. Edward Ikechi Mbaoma of Umuawaha Uba Umuaka. Both lived happily and had eight children (5 boys & 3 girls) but lost one of the sons to measles. Our Mom was a dedicated and supportive wife to her husband. Regrettably, Ezinne Patricia lost her husband to the cold hands of death in 1995. This left her in disarray with many children to look after.

INDUSTRY.

Mama was industrious in her marital home & did not hesitate to impart such industrial knowledge to her children. Family members envied her enterprise, hard work & support to her husband which was a buy product of her youthful life. When her husband went in search of greener pastures in Ibadan with the whiteman at oil servicing company, Mama was at home with her children & ensured that they didn’t lack anything.

Later on, as a courageous & fearless widow, she took her fate to God who gave her the strength to maintain the status quo in the upbringing of her children. Mama made sure that those in school & trading never dropped out. Her brothers and sisters stood by her as well her aged mother.

FAMILY LIFE.

Our mother was a friend, a sister and a Mom to all of us. She showered her children and relatives with excess love. She made sure that when we were sick we got the best treatment. She didn’t believe in mixing drugs which was the order of the day then. She would always insist on taking us to hospital for proper diagnosis & treatment.

Mama built a household name for herself. Nwanyinalualu made sure that all husband’s farmlands remained intact. Her focus in life made her a centre of attraction. It’s on record that you will not come to Ezinne Patricia with a family problem without getting a positive feedback. She was an outstanding helper to all that knew her.

CHRISTIAN LIFE.

Mama as a young dedicated Christian in the African Gospel Mission (AGM) was a chorister. She was a peaceful woman and never joked with activities & programs of the church. She maintained dedication in the Catholic Church vis-a-vis the CWO. Her services to God earned her the Ezinne title of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Umuaka.

SOCIAL LIFE.

Ezinne Patricia was a great socialist, never a dull moment with her. She lightened every environment she found herself with jokes and friendliness such that you can never be angry when she was around. She had names for every of her husband’s people like, ‘Oke Dim,”Nwa Mazi,””OnyeGgbaram Ohu, “Ezi Di – n’awughi Mkpokiri Di’, ‘Goment Ekiti’, etc.

To mama, it is a big offence to come to her house without eating. She belonged to so many social organizations including Obidiya Social Club of Umuaka.

HER GLORIOUS EXIT

Mama as she was ageing suffered much with Arthritis & Fracture of the head of femur. The operation & healing was super but death must have a witness as mama used to say. Two months after the operation, she was readmitted for another operation which she couldn’t recover from. Mama, as a role model and an angel, your journey on earth demonstrated accomplishment & fulfillment. Being peaceful in nature, you passed through the stages of death peacefully & immediately you gave up the ghost, your face was radiating with beauty.

We your children did everything within our disposal to rescue you from the hands of death but God’s will prevailed. We can’t question God because we are aware that life itself is a stage and death is the end of an era; the beginning of another chapter in the journey to eternity.

In all these, we are consoled in the word of God as seen in Ecclesiastes 3:2- To everything there is a season & a time to every purpose under the Heaven. A time to be born & a time to die.
