The finest hours of Ezinne Patricia Nwanyidabaram Mbaoma.

Ezinne Patricia Nwanyidabaram Mbaoma, a devote Christian mother, jovial and straightforward in many things she does was someone who meant a lot to many. Depending on how you got to know her, there was a special name those who met her throuch similar circumstance used to call her. Such names are Goment Etiti, Mma Chima, Nwanyianalualu and many more. At the age of 86, God her creator decided to call her from the earth after a brief illness. As a woman who had a lot of love to give, those who knew her, on January 5, 2024, came together and showed her love by fully taking part in the burial program of the amiable woman of substance.

The moment her body arrived from the mortuary on the Friday 5 January 2024 and touched the family compound in a motorcade, guns shots were fired severally to signify that the matriarch of the Mboma family had arrived home. The next thing was lying in state. It was her immediate family members led by her first son, Mazi Dona Mboma that first went to see her corpse as she lay in state.


Umuaka Times reporters who covered the event reported that several individuals and organizations also went in to see her body as a sign of their respect.

Some of the children of the deceased who were clad in white lace found it hard to hold back tears after viewing the corpse of their lovely mother who indeed suffered to raise them up with their late dad.

Close to 10 am, the master of the ceremony announced that it was time for the requiem Mass at St Mary’s Catholic Church. In few minutes time, all were headed to church in a long motorcade. The church service began around 10:25 am for some reasons Umuaka Times could not establish.

The priest who officiated during the Mass, talked good of the deceased and the type of life she lived while giving her sermon to the congregation. He went further and told the congregation that he used to visit the woman anytime he had the opportunity. He finally described the woman as someone who lived her life with the fear of God and trained her children in the ways of the Lord.

By the time the Mass came to an end, one of the female children of the deceased took the microphone to thank the congregation for their patience and love for her mother. She appealed to them to follow them to their house for the internment and light refreshment.

In about some minutes after midday, the church service came to an end and the congregation made up of youths, family and friends escorted the Mboma family members back home in preparation for the internment.

 

During the graveside prayers, a couple of reverend fathers and reverend sisters were seen offering their final prayers. About 15 minutes after 1 pm on Friday January 5, the remains of mother Ezinne Patricia Nwanyidabaram Mbaoma was interred, signaling the end of her eventful 86 year old sojourn on earth.
