Over the years, many Akalites who visit home during the yuletide have always asked and tried to find out why the famous town only plays football matches during the Yuletide period. Some have blamed it on lack of foresight and suggested that Oghu festival be brought to December so as to add more colour during the Christmas celebrations in the community. On the contrary, some have totally kicked against that suggestion and advocated that each village should come up with her own program of events during Christmas so as to strengthen the ties and “diplomatic” relations in the community.

There is a group of Akalites in some certain quarters that has refused to agree with any of the above suggestions and preferred a more impressive Christmas celebrations in the community. This group has also been accused of trying to infiltrate the social lifestyle of Umuaka with foreign culture.

After giving considerations and indeed moved by these several requests over the years, the youth wing of New Umuaka Project Initiative NUPI, has packaged all the requests together into what is now known as Umuaka Youths Carnival or Akah Youths Carnival.
