A former secretary to Imo State Government and a top PDP chieftain, Hon Uche Onyeagocha has appealed to Labour Party’s presidential hopeful for 2023 presidential elections Mr Peter Obi to return to the PDP. Hon. Uche Onyeagocha who is interested to represent Imo East ( Owerri) Senatorial Zone in the 2023 general elections disclosed this in an interview with Arise TV in her daily interview segment tagged The Morning Show. This statement was made when he appeared at The Morning Show, an Arise TV interview program on Friday June 3.
According to Hon Onyeagocha, he is totally in support of the clamour for the next president of Nigeria of Igbo extraction and on that note he has requested Obi to come back to PDP.
In his analysis, Hon Onyeagocha strongly believes that Obi stands better chances of running as a vice president with Atiku Abubakar which will give him the opportunity to run for president at the end of the Atiku’s term.
The Owerri born politician did not limit the roadmap to Igbo president of Nigeria to PDP alone, according to him, Ndi Igbo are ready to accept the no 1 citizen’s office both from the PDP or APC and by other possible means such as negotiations. . “It could come from PDP or APC or even by negotiations. We are open to all options..”
On his final note, Onyeagocha noted that the surest way for an Igboman to become the president of Nigeria for now is for Peter Obi to come back to PDP and work together with Atiku as his running mate.
