Ugochukwu Iwunwa set to undergo treatment at UNTH Enugu.

The much awaited treatment of Master Ugochukwu Iwunwa has commenced in a private hospital in Enugu, Enugu State. Ugochukwu whose case was brought to the attention of Akalites by Umuaka Times and Emelong Foundation a couple of weeks ago has already travelled to Enugu with his father Mr Chikezie Osigidi where they met with the foremost medical doctor, professor and plastic surgeon, Obioha Kingsley Chukwu Episteme. Trouble started for little Ugochukwu over four years ago as a result of an accident which affected his urinary system and he has been passing urine through the aid of a pipe since then. In a welcome video shared by Umuaka Times last week, Professor Obioha Kingsley Chukwu Episteme was seen giving an update on the treatment Ugochukwu will undergo in Enugu.
According to him, the corrective surgery will be done at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital UNTH Enugu after all preparations for the surgery have been effectively made.
The consultant surgeon regretted that resident doctors embarked on an industrial action few days before the arrival of Ugochukwu and his father in Enugu but went ahead and informed the people that even with the industrial action, medical investigations on Ugochukwu have already commenced. He promised that some investigations that would be done in his own personal hospital, God’s Own Specialist Hospital would be done free of charge.
Professor Obioha Kingsley Chukwu Episteme finally used the opportunity to thank all who have contributed some funds towards the treatment of Ugochukwu Iwunwa and further assured that he would use his good offices to make sure that the surgery will be done successfully.
