Umuaka Times honours Hon Ugonna Ozurigbo.

Monday 29 March 2021 was a great day in Umuozu community in Nwangele Local Government. On the eventful day, one of the most illustrious sons of the community, Right Hon Ozurigbo Ugonna,  House member representing Nkwerri/Nwangele/Njaba/Isu constituency and the chairman House Committee on Justice was honored with a prestigious merit award from Umuaka Times newspapers. The award was presented to Hon Ozurigbo in recognition of the numerous empowerment programs and projects the law maker has embarked upon in his constituency.

Umuaka Times publisher, Darlington Ojy Onwukwe who went to the event in the company of Mr Chibuike Okunwa, a youth leader and pro democracy activist in Umuaka, while making his speech, extolled the virtues of the honourable member whom he described as God’s gift to the constituency. According to him, Right Hon Ozurigbo Ugonna stands as a good example of a leader that the community and state need at this present time to show the people of the constituency and the state in general, the taste of good governance. He went on to mention just a few of the projects and empowerment programs Ozurigbo has put in place in the constituency which have collectively attracted the attention of Umuaka Times to reward him with a prestigious public service merit award.


In his opening speech, Onwukwe recognized the party members and other guests who attended the event and thanked them for making it a reality. He cited many projects embarked upon by the honourable member and further concluded by saying, “This award is not for sale. It is what you do for your people that will attract it. When you do good to the people you will receive it. It is like the Kingdom of God which is not for sale but one’s activities are the only criterion that will achieve it,” Onwukwe told the audience.

The audience which was drown from all the local governments in the constituency was so pleased to witness the event to the extent that they kept clapping for the kind gesture displayed by both Umuaka Times and Hon Ozurigbo. At the end of the speech, the honourable received the award and photo session began.
