1 min readSoccer prodigy and the captain of Highlanders of Uba FC, Oscar Nzube Alozie popularly known as Tanko has disclosed to Umuaka Times in an exclusive interview why the Uba Umuaka FC lost to Net Breakers of Amakor in the finals of Aku Agbarananwu championship league held at Central School Umuaka on Sunday, 19 January 2025.
According to the captain, the Highlanders of Uba lost the game due to over confidence his players had in themselves. “We had a million opportunities to win that game but our boys relaxed. During the first half, our boys did very well and the saw the Net Breakers as a walkover team and eventually went into relaxation.”
In his further explanations, Tanko lamented that his players are not good in penalty shootouts. “My players know this fact very well; if you are not good in penalties, please make sure you secure the victory within 90 minutes.”
Tanko described penalty shootouts as a game of luck where the best player can lose and the worst can score. He used the opportunity and encouraged his players to always put in their best in any competition with the aim of achieving success.
On the victory of Net Breakers, Tanko congratulated the Amakor boys and thanked the donor of the cup.
