Women Leaders, Presidents-general, now WCC ambassadors.
1 min readLast week, the 10 presidents-general and 10 women leaders from Umuaka Ebe Iri were named “WCC Ambassadors” by the leadership of Women’s Crisis Centre in a summit held by the body with the stakeholders.
Women’s Crisis Centre, an Umuaka community based organization which protects the rights and health status of women, made this move in order to facilitate the works of the organization in the community. As an NGO which fights rape, domestic violence and encourages small scale businesses among Umuaka women, the need for the use of the women leaders and presidents-general to fight the criminal activities of rapists and wife beaters was emphasized during the summit.
The WCC charged the women leaders and the presidents-general to always report any case of abuse of sexual and domestic abuse of women and girls in the community to the office of Women’s Crisis Centre located at White House in Achara Umuaka.
In their responses, the delegates who attended the summit as representatives of their various communities, used the opportunity to thank WCC and the founder of the organization Ms Lesley Agams for their fine efforts in making Umuaka community a better place.
