Oghu dance: Onwa Foundation gives vote of thanks.
2 min readThe Executive Director and founder, Onwa Foundation and Orphanage Homes, an international NGO based in Germany, Chief Fidelis Nwuke has sent his vote of thanks to all the people who played instrumental roles during the hosting of the 2023 edition of Onwa Foundation Oghu dance which was held in Amakor community on Sunday July 23, 2023 at Amaocha Amakor.
Chief Nwuke first thanked the royal father of Amakor Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Innocent Meremikwu, the Akor 1 of Amakor, for his royal blessings and total support for the event. He used the opportunity to ask God to grant more wisdom to the royal father on how to rule the Amakor community.
Others on the list mentioned by Chief Nwuke include Barrister Damian Eze, Jeffery Ezenwa (Zimbo), Paulinus Osunwa, Prince Uche Nwosu Akpara, Pauline Ojinnaka, Lolo Ijele, Lolo Anyanwu Ututu, Mrs Eunice Okpe and Lolo Igolo Umuaka.
Talking about the event, the Onwa Foundation boss who followed the oghu event live all the way from Germany noted that the 2023 edition of the event was very colourful and more sensational than the one held in 2022. He considered the number of organizations and prominent individuals who came to witness the event as a total boast to the event.
During the oghu dance, the presence of the Umuahia Zone of Onwa Foundation and the Amakor Zone was also felt by other guests as they were all dressed in their official Onwa Foundation uniform.
In his final message and appreciation, Chief Nwuke appealed to individuals and organizations in Igboland especially Umuaka to always do their best in promoting Igbo culture and tradition.
