Eze Justin Ezeala, others receive church awards.
The famous Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community’s royal father, HRM, Eze Justin Ezeala has received the prestigious award of the Pillar of the Church from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Obinwanne. The Umuaka Times correspondent who monitored the event confirmed that the honour given to the royal father was made possible by the Catholic Men’s Organization of St Patrick’s Church Obinwanne during the celebration of Fathers’ Day recently. The honour was in recognition of the contributions the royal father has made over the years to the growth of the church.
His Royal Majesty who was conspicuously absent during the event was represented by his mother popularly known as Mama Onye Eze. It was she also who received the award on behalf of the Obinwanne monarch. She thanked the church for the honour bestowed on the royal father of the community by the church.
During the award presentation, it was not only the royal father that was honoured; some deserving Christian fathers from the parish were also honoured with merit certificates. The list of those who bagged the certificates includes Sir JC Igboeche (Akajummuta) KSJI, Chief Donatus Obioha (Akaekpuchionwa), Chief Hon Cyril Ukeoma (Ikeoha), Chief Hon Kenneth Obioha (Nwarupuoaku), Chief Modestus Obioha (Akusinobi), Sir Charles Abiakwe (KSJI), Mr Romanus Ukasoanya, Prince John Okebaram, Dr Obodoshaa Agwubuo (Okpu), Chief Festus Nnadi (Omeudo) and Sir Dominic Okpara (KSM).
Rev Father Anthony Ohams, the parish priest of the church thanked the royal father and others who were honored and prayed to God to continue to uplift and bless the parish. He specifically noted that the awardees have at several times made individual contributions towards the growth of the church.
