An Angola based businessman and philanthropist Mr. Iwuaku Iwuchukwu has extolled the virtues of two great Akalites whose deaths occurred recently. Dr JOL Ezeala, an American trained attorney and the first Akalite to become a lawyer whose death was announced last week by the family was the first person the philanthropist spoke about. According to him, the late Dr Ezeala remains a shining example totally worthy of emulation by other Akalites. Mr. Iwuckuhwu told Umuaka Times that Dr Ezeala as far back as over 35 years ago, brought his entire family from America to Umuaka and made sure his family socialized with the locals.

“Think about it, this man brought his family from America and refused to keep them in any urban part of the country but made sure his family socialized in the village. The children went to High School Umuaka and ended up becoming responsible children in the society today,” he told Umuaka Times.

On Chief Ben Okoro, Iwuchukwu praised the late chief for all his versatile and pioneering business acumen. “Chief Ben Okoro made Umuaka his operational headquarters and he was a millionaire till his death. These two men will always have my respect even in death for the good character and business strategies they left for us to emulate. Does that not show you that one can make it in Umuaka?”

Chief Iwuchukwu who spoke to the correspondent of Umuaka Times in Angola, used the opportunity to appeal to Akalites, especially those living outside the country to emulate these gentlemen who conquered the world from Umuaka. He also prayed for the repose of their souls.

In view of the troubles that the Covid19 pandemic has created in Umuaka, Mr Iwuaku Iwuchukwu used the opportunity to plead with the youths in Umuaka to go into farming, especially fish farming. He suggested that the Njaba River will be a source of energy that will encourage fish farming in Umuaka community.
