2 min read

The founder and Executive Director of Ifydora Foundation Dora Ify Ohans has expressed her heartfelt joy to all the members of the foundation, volunteers and others who assisted the foundation in her December and January empowerment program held in Enugu and Imo states respectively. Speaking with the UK correspondent of Umuaka Times in her base in the United Kingdom, Dora Ify Ohans told Umuaka Times that she started her involvement with charity and social works as a very young girl. “Charity work is in my blood which I learnt from my father. Both in Enugu and Imo states, I have students I train and others I have helped to build their capacities in diverse ways.”

Talking about the empowerment program her foundation, the Ifydora Foundation held from December 2023 to January 2024, the Executive Director told Umuaka Times that more than 100 indigent persons from Enugu and Imo states benefitted from the massive program. The foundation gave out about 100 bags of rice with cooking ingredients and cash gifts to several low income families across the two states.

In Imo State, the towns that benefitted from the program include Umuaka, Ekwe, Amandugba, Umundugba and Isu Njaba communities. Mbaise was also another community that benefitted immensely from the empowerment.

In Enugu State, the empowerment was able to fish out some low income families in the state capital and they also benefitted largely.

For an NGO of the status of Ifydora Foundation, it is always not an easy task in carrying out her assignments and programs. Ifydora Foundation has its own peculiar problems and fights seriously to overcome them. For now, the organization faces the shortage of professional media men to handle her media activities. Besides all these, Ifydora Foundation is open to receive volunteers, ambassadors and more according to what the Executive disclosed to Umuaka Times.

Before she wrapped up the interview, Dora Ify Ohans used the Umuaka Times media outlet to pray for the whole families that benefited from the empowerment program of her foundation. “It is my prayer that God will continue to bless the families and open new positive doors for them.”

The Ifydora Foundation has successfully made impactful inroads both in Imo and Anambra states, it is in line with the foundation’s philosophy and program that the foundation will among other issues revisit the communities in the two states once again and most likely by December 2024.
