The Okoro family of Umuonyiriegbe, Umuezikoha in Uba Umuaka, Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, has formally announced the burial date of their late daughter, mother, grandmother and wife, Mrs. Rose Ndubuisi Okoro, the family matriarch who passed away after a brief illness. According to a press statement made available to Umuaka Times, the burial has been fixed for January 7, 2027.

The statement was signed by her first son, Bishop Edu Adigwe, a United States based cleric, televangelist, and founder of a growing Christian ministry with followers in Nigeria and the diaspora. It noted that Mrs. Okoro died while receiving medical care at a hospital in Aba, Abia State.

Family sources described the late Mrs. Okoro as a devoted Christian mother, community woman, and respected “daughter of Zion” who spent much of her life serving God, raising her children, and promoting peace and unity within her community. Her death has reportedly left members of the extended Okoro family and residents of Uba Umuaka in mourning.

Umuaka Times correspondents in the United States report that sympathizers, church members, friends, and relatives from Nigeria and abroad have continued to send condolence messages to the family, particularly to Bishop Edu Adigwe and his siblings, praying for strength during this period of grief.

Community leaders in Njaba LGA also expressed sadness over her passing, describing her as a woman known for humility, kindness, and strong Christian values. Church members who knew her reportedly recalled her life of prayer, generosity, and consistent support for the less privileged.

Although full burial arrangements are yet to be officially released, the family said preparations are underway for what is expected to be a well-attended funeral ceremony in her hometown of Uba Umuaka. Details of the service of songs and other rites will be communicated in due course.

Mrs. Rose Ndubuisi Okoro is survived by her seven children, including Bishop Edu Adigwe, grandchildren, extended family members, and many others whose lives she impacted during her lifetime.
