Mazi Efeddy bags chieftaincy titles in Idume.

Uba Umuaka born veteran disk joker, (DJ), social commentator and community leader, Mr Efegadi Iwuoha properly known in the social circles and outside Imo State as Mazi Efeddy was yesterday, being Saturday April 29, 2023 conferred with two chieftaincy titles in faraway Idume Ogwa in Mbaitoli Local Government Imo State.

According to a press release issued by Mazi Efeddy last week, which was made available to Umuaka Times and other reporters in the state, HRH Eze Alban Uzor Ejiakonye, the Idu 1 of Idume Autonomous Community Ogwa Mbitoli LGA conferred Mazi Efeddy with the chieftaincy titles named the Aka Ekpuchi Onwa (Hands Can’t Cover the Moon) of Idume and Iheabata (Light Has Entered) of Mbaitoli. The elaborate ceremony was held in the palace of the Idume monarch.


Chief Mazi Efeddy who spoke with Umuaka Times shortly after the conferment of the titles on him thanked the Almighty God for the opportunity and honour bestowed on him by the great Idume monarch and his people. He assured them that he will never betray them.

According to the Umuaka Times reporters who monitored the ceremony, many chieftaincy title holders from Uba Umuaka and other communities as well as friends and well-wishers of Chief Mazi Efeddy accompanied him to the ceremony which went smoothly as planned.

Also conspicuously present at the event were the Umuokwarajineho community in Umuonyiriegbe, Uba Umuaka. The women, men and youths of Umuokwarajineho attended the event and each of them expressed his or her thankfulness to the Idume monarch and his people for finding one of their sons, Chief Efeddy Iwuoha worthy for such highly respected chieftaincy titles.

Umuaka Times gathered that about 32 chieftaincy title holders from several communities in and outside Umuaka attended the event. Chief Ekwueme Hyginus Okpara who represented HRH Eze Henry Ojinnaka was at the event. The Eze Ojinnaka Palace Chairman, Chief Rafael Duruji, Chief Vitalis Nwanyanwu the Atakata Agboo, Chief Luke Anunuso, Chief Solo Obioha and Dr Kingsley Obioha also graced the event.

Because of the nature of the event, 21 gun salute anchored by Mazi Simon Onuigbo were detonated in Idume in honour of Chief Efeddy Iwuoha. Another, 21 gun salute rented the air in Achara on their way coming back and 42 in the family compound upon their arrival.

The conferment of double chieftaincy titles on Mazi Efeddy was classic and a big fun that will last decades before it will be forgotten.
