Murder: Akalites preach behavioural change on social media.

Reacting to the murder of an innocent motorcycle boy from Obeakpu last week named Chidiebere Okpara, many Akalites took to the social media to preach behavioural change mechanism to the youths in the community. Amakor and Obeakpu youths were very prominent according to Umuaka Times findings on the development. Both communities totally condemned the activities of the motorcycle boys who now do anything criminal to achieve their devilish aims. The moment the news of the killing of the Obeakpu boy, burning of some houses in Amakor and other tragic news items hit the internet last week, many Akalites took to social media to condemn such acts and appealed to their fellow Akalites to be of good behaviour and love one another. Writing on Umuaka Times Institute, Ernest Nwanyanwu, an Akalite who lives in Israel advised the youths thus. “Say no to those selling and using drugs in Umuaka.”
Chief Celestine Agu, the Ekwembiriba of Umuaka and the Traditional Prime Minister of Obinwanne Autonomous Community, while reacting to the last week murder of Chidiebere Opkara and the reactions that followed wrote. “His act is so condemnable but they shouldn’t have taken the laws into their hands by burning houses so that the punishment of the culprit could be stiffer when apprehended.”
Miss Miriam John Chibuzor, a female youth activist also took to the social media and advised motorcycle boys.”Say no to illegal dealings. Say no to stealing. Say no to laziness. Say no to drug abuse. Say no to mental disability. Say no to fighting. Say no to improper dressing. Say no to DOOM in Umuaka. Say no to burning of houses in Umuaka. Say no to gambling. Say no to self killing.”
Some Akalites who spoke to Umuaka Times about the ugly development suggested that the need for a formidable security outfit that will check the excesses of the youths is very urgent.
Till date, most Akalites keep wondering why older Chikwado Green would take a bottle and stab a teenager in the Chidiebere Okpara status and age who just turned 18.
Umuaka Times could not confirm at press time if any arrest has been made so far or not, regarding the crimes of last week in the community.
