Tribute to My Irreplaceable “Mother.” By Uchendu Nnah.

2 min read

“NnahOgbuagu” as you fondly called me, I speak with a heart that is both broken and grateful. Broken, because the woman who meant so much to me is no longer here. Grateful, because I had the rare and priceless privilege to be mothered by you. As a child, I knew what it meant to be covered in prayer, your voice still echoes in my head praying for me, blessing me, calling me by name before the throne of grace. Even in your silence now, I still feel your presence with me. You taught me how to pray, you taught me how to stand in faith, even when life felt overwhelming. You taught me how to love people deeply, serve selflessly, I am who I am today because of the values, principles and ideals you instilled in me.

You were not just my mother but a mother to all who called out to you, you carried the burdens of others with such grace even when you were burdened, a woman who led by examples and empathy. Mama was more than a mother, she was a servant of God who lived her life with purpose, humility, and unwavering love for her family and church. Her words carried wisdom, her prayers brought comfort, and her presence radiated peace.

Through her selfless service, she touched countless lives, offering hope where there was despair, and light where there was darkness. Mama will give you her tomorrow for your today. At home she was a pillar of strength and compassion. Mama, your legacy lives on not just among I and my siblings but for every soul you’ve touched, for every life you’ve transformed. Your impact is one that can’t be erased by time. You ran your race with grace, you fought the good fight of faith.

Now, your rest begins. Thank you for being my mother, thank you for loving me, leading me, and shaping my life. My wife Chidinma, my sons Ezenwa and Ikenna will miss you so deeply, and will live in a way that honors your love, your legacy, and your prayers.

Rest well, God’s servant. Rest well, the best woman made to be a mother.

Rest well, mama until we meet again in glory.

With all my love.
