Pupils of the Blue House of National School Ugbele, Umuaka, have received writing materials and a cash donation of ₦40,000 from the family of Ichie Uche Iwuchukwu, a businessman based in Mozambique, in recognition of their victory in the school’s inter-house sports competition. The donation, which included exercise books and other writing materials, was presented to the pupils on behalf of the Iwuchukwu family by Ichie Uche Iwuchukwu’s wife, Mrs Chidimma Iwuchukwu. The gesture followed the Blue House’s success in the inter-house sports competition organised by National School Ugbele some months ago.

According to the family, the donation was made not only to celebrate the pupils’ sporting achievement but also to encourage them to take their education seriously and continue striving for excellence. The message accompanying the donation described the gesture as an investment in the pupils’ future, stressing that supporting children with educational materials goes beyond providing books and writing materials.
“Today, we invested in something more powerful than books. We invested in young minds, brighter futures, and the gift of education,” the family said.
The family further noted that every notebook placed in the hands of a child serves as a reminder of the transformative power of education and knowledge.
“May these children grow in wisdom, confidence, and purpose,” the message added.
The beneficiaries received exercise books, writing materials and the ₦40,000 cash donation, which the family described as a token of support for the pupils. The presentation was supported by George Eriri, who joined in facilitating the gesture to the young beneficiaries.
Speaking through the message accompanying the donation, the Iwuchukwu family expressed the hope that the pupils would continue to distinguish themselves both academically and in extracurricular activities. The gesture has also been seen as an encouragement to other individuals from Umuaka, particularly those living and doing business outside Nigeria, to support educational development in their communities.
Umuaka Times gathered that Ichie Uche Iwuchukwu, who is based in Mozambique, has remained connected to his community and continues to identify with initiatives aimed at supporting young people. The presentation was marked by appreciation from the pupils and the school community, with the writing materials expected to assist the children in their daily academic activities.
For the Blue House pupils, their victory on the sporting field has therefore brought another reward beyond the competition itselfan educational gift intended to help them pursue their studies with greater confidence.Donated with love. Received with hope.
