Umuaka, Orlu Diocese to stand still for Mrs Odueze on Jan 12.

Catholics in Njaba LGA and indeed the entire Orlu Catholic Diocese will stand still on Wednesday January 12, 2022 during the burial of mother of mothers and woman leader of women leaders, Dame Cathy Nneoma Nwere Ugo Odueze (JP) who passed on to glory a couple of weeks ago after living an eventful life filled with service to God and humanity for a period of 81 years.
Umuaka Times learnt that since the death of the amiable Amazon was announced some weeks past, many organizations including secular and faith based groups have been paying their condolence visits to the famous Odueze family over the loss of the matriarch of the Odueze dynasty. When Umuaka Times visited the Odueze family house on Friday last week, several Christian groups both from Orlu and beyond were seen conducting prayers in the compound. A family member who spoke with Umuaka Times confirmed that many visitors both from in and outside Nigeria have been paying their condolence visits especially during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
A press statement which was released by the family on the burial program of the late Mrs Odueze, states that Tuesday January 11 2022, by 7 pm to 9pm, there will be what has been described as a Night of Peace and the display of the life documentary of the amazing Amazon. Wednesday by 10 am, there will be a requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Mrs Odueze at St Joseph’s Catholic Parish Isiozi Akah by His Lordship Most Rev Dr Tochukwu Ukwuoma, the bishop of Orlu Diocese.
The press statement further stated that Interment follows by 12 mid day and reception by 1: 45 pm at St Saviour’s College Umuaka.
It was also observed by Umuaka Times that the family has concluded plans for a heavy presence of security officials during the burial in order to forestall any form of criminal activities.
