The Coordinator and Director-General of the VINcity Movement, the campaign organization of Chief Sir Vincent Iwuchukwu, Mr Ugochukwu Onyenobi, has offered further insights into why his principal is seeking election as the next senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, popularly known as Orlu Zone, in the 2027 general elections. Onyenobi, a prominent community leader, youth mobiliser and trained architect, said Iwuchukwu’s senatorial ambition was driven by the need to strengthen security, empower the people economically and provide effective, accessible and people-oriented representation for the people of Orlu Zone.

According to him, the people of Imo West deserve a senator who will go beyond occupying a seat in the National Assembly to become a strong voice for their interests, defend their welfare and champion initiatives capable of improving their living conditions. The VINcity Movement Director-General described Iwuchukwu, popularly presented by his supporters as the Lion of Orlu Zone, as a candidate whose ambition centres on building a safer, more prosperous and better-represented senatorial district.
Onyenobi identified insecurity as one of the major concerns that any serious political leader seeking to represent Orlu Zone must address. He maintained that residents should be able to travel, conduct businesses, engage in farming and pursue their daily activities without living under the constant fear of violence or attacks. The DG explained that Iwuchukwu’s vision included stronger advocacy for peace, improved community security, constructive engagement with young people and better support for relevant security institutions within the framework of the law.
The movement coordinator stressed that security was essential to economic development, noting that businesses could not thrive and communities could not reach their full potential in an atmosphere of persistent fear and uncertainty. He said the aspiration was to help create an Orlu Zone where families could live peacefully, traders could operate with confidence and young people could look forward to a more secure future. Onyenobi also explained that economic empowerment was central to the senator-in-waiting’s agenda, arguing that the people needed practical opportunities to improve their livelihoods rather than promises that ended after elections.
From what Umuaka Times gathered, Iwuchukwu intended to promote initiatives that would benefit youths, women, farmers, artisans, entrepreneurs and small-business owners through legislative advocacy, skills acquisition, enterprise development and access to relevant government programs. According to him, effective representation should help residents identify and access opportunities that could enable them to become economically independent.
He added that young people should be encouraged to develop marketable skills, women should receive greater support for their businesses, and farmers and local entrepreneurs should be assisted through policies and programs that could improve productivity and expand their economic opportunities. Onyenobi noted that a stronger local economy would reduce dependency, create employment opportunities and enable more families to meet their needs with dignity.
The VINcity Movement Director-General further argued that quality representation must be measured by the impact a senator makes on the lives of constituents rather than mere attendance at legislative sessions. He said the people of Orlu Zone needed a representative who would remain accessible, listen to their concerns, engage with communities and consistently take their demands to the appropriate levels of government. According to Onyenobi, Iwuchukwu’s proposed approach to representation would place emphasis on accountability, transparency, consultation and results.
He maintained that the office of a senator should serve as a bridge between the people and federal institutions, helping communities pursue development opportunities and access programs designed to improve education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic wellbeing. He added that communities across the senatorial district deserved to have their concerns heard, regardless of their size, political affiliations or geographical location. Onyenobi said the 2027 senatorial contest presented an opportunity for the people of Orlu Zone to examine the choices before them and consider the kind of leadership that could best address their present and future challenges. He called for a new direction in which security, human development, economic empowerment and responsible representation would receive sustained attention.
The architect and community leader urged the electorate to look beyond campaign slogans and assess political candidates based on their vision, commitment to public service and capacity to advance the collective interests of the people. He said Iwuchukwu was stepping forward with a commitment to serve and a vision of an Orlu Zone where citizens would have greater opportunities to prosper and participate in decisions affecting their communities.
The VINcity Movement is mobilizing support for Chief Sir Vincent Iwuchukwu’s bid to represent Imo West Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections. The movement’s message is anchored on security, good governance, economic empowerment and building a stronger future for the people of Orlu Zone. Onyenobi called on residents, community leaders, youths, women, professionals, business owners and other stakeholders to participate actively in the democratic process and carefully evaluate the available choices. He urged supporters to rally behind Iwuchukwu’s aspiration, describing the campaign as an opportunity to pursue a more people-centred approach to representation.
The movement’s campaign message concludes with the rallying call: “One People. One Voice. One Vision. One Stronger Orlu Zone.” With the 2027 elections approaching, Iwuchukwu’s campaign is seeking to convince voters that its priorities of security, empowerment and effective representation deserve their support.
