“Why we made Chief Anyiam our grand patron.” Sir Sydney Okpoko.

The president of Akah Aborigines South Africa, Sir Sydney Okpoko has disclosed to Umuaka Times why the organization chose to bestow its highest position of grand patron to Chief Ugo Johnson Anyiam, a South African based businessman and an attorney at law. Sir Okpoko who had a brief interview with Umuaka Times last week on the recent development confirmed to Umuaka Times that the organization decided to make Anyiam the grand patron of the union “because of his outstanding service and constant support to the association”.

Okpoko in the exclusive interview, told Umuaka Times that Anyiam has been a long standing pillar of support for the union and the union decided to appreciate him with the award of Grand Patron of the organization which is a lifetime award.

Umuaka Times gathered that both the awardee and the awarders had a good time last week during the ceremony. The president also disclosed that the organization, Akah Aborigines South Africa has other patrons such as, Patron Chief Okechukwu Onwunaro (Akunaebiokwu), Rev Patron Emmanuel Onyemepu, Patron Modestus Njoku, Patron Vitalis Obioha, Patron Luke Emere who has later relocated to Nigeria. Patron Kingsley Iwuanoruo and Patron Chief Paul Mkporo.

Sir Sydney Okpoko finally described Barrister Ugo Johnson Anyiam as a unifier.
