2023: Brainbox sues Chiddy Agbasi over forgery.

2 min read

New breed politician, youth activist and an Imo State born PDP chieftain, Hon Obinna “Brainbox” Orgazi has dragged the winner of PDP primaries for Njaba House of Assembly, Hon Norbert Chiddy Agbasi to court on the allegation of forging signatures on his PDP Nomination form. Hon Orgazi disclosed this to Umuaka Times last week in a brief interview in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

From what Umuaka Times gathered, Hon Chiddy Agbasi allegedly forged the signatures of those who nominated him from the PDP to run for Imo House of Assembly and submitted to the Peoples Democratic Party. The alleged forgery and perjury according to Hon Obinna Orgazi is a criminal offence before the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

On another hand, Orgazi told Umuaka Times that a valid delegate from Amucha Ward 2 was barred from taking part in the primaries despite being fully accredited. From the views of Hon Obinna Orgazi, these reasons had by one way or another given Hon Agbasi the “victory” which he never deserved. From the result released by the PDP, Orgazi lost the election to Agbasi by one vote. It is on the strength of his defeat and the alleged irregularities which greeted the primaries that Orgazi has assembled his legal team with a particular prayer before the Federal High Court Owerri, which is to disqualify Hon Agbasi, nullify his victory and declare him (Hon Obinna Orgazi) the winner of the PDP primaries for Njaba State House of Assembly, being the only aspirant that was qualified to run.

Umuaka Times was reliably informed that the case is being heard at the Federal High Court Owerri and Hon Agbasi has been dully served with the relevant court papers. For now, the legal fireworks for the big judicial process has just begun. Hon Orgazi who spoke with Umuaka Times on the development, demonstrated his confidence in the judiciary, that justice will prevail at last.

Hearing has been fixed on the 27th of July 2022.
