Okwuchukwu Christabel, others for Colombia 2024 World Cup:

The technical adviser of Nigeria’s Under 20 female national football team, the Falconets, Coach Christopher Musa Danjuma has invited Umuaka born Okwuchukwu Chiamaka Christabel as one of the players listed for intensive trainings and qualifying matches for the FIFA Under-20 female World Cup tournament coming up in Columbia in 2024. Umuaka Times sports correspondent gathered that Chiamaka and 27 others were invited for camping and trainings in preparation for the big event. Those invited include the Falconets goalkeepers, “Linda Jiwuaku Faith Omilana, defenders JumokeAlani and TumininuAdeshina, midfielders TaiwoAfolabi, ChinyereKalu and ChideraOkenwa, and forwarders,ChiamakaOkwuchukwu, YinaAdoo and OpeyemiAjakaye.”

By next month being November 2023, the team will be heading for Tanzania to enable her participate in the qualifying match series booked for the main event in Columbia in 2024. The first leg of the qualifying match is expected to kick off between 10th – 12th November 2023 in Dar es Salaam, the second leg holds in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria between 17th – 19th November 2023. During the Abuja second leg, many Nigerians are expected to come out in their large numbers to support the team.

Speaking with Umuaka Times sports correspondent about the development, OkwuchukwuChiamakaChristabel gave God the glory and demonstrated the depth of her joy and appealed to Nigerians to give them their usual moral support. She described the Nigerian team as a “terror squad” ready to shake the world and bring home the FIFA Under-20 World Cup to Nigeria.
